Mike Potter will be giving a talk for the Pickering branch of the WEA.

Flooding – from the Damp End

On Friday 11 Jan, 7.30pm at the Friends Meeting House, Castlegate, Pickering. Everyone welcome. Entrance free, but a donation of £2 will help cover costs.

The talk will centre around flooding locally; how and why it happens, the ground-breaking work that has been done to protect local towns and villages and what will hopefully happen in the next few months.  Questions welcome.

Mike has worked as part of the Ryedale Flood Research Group for 5 years and as part of the Slowing The Flow partnership since it was formed 4 years ago.

Is there any chance of publishing the talk notes etc on this site for people who cannot attend – please?

    Thanks

Tricky I’m afraid – it’s all crammed inside my head and just needs prising out. I use powerpoint with bullet points as an aide memoire and a few nice pictures to relieve any tedium of me rambling on. I could try publishing the powerpoint text, but it would be very limited use.

      cheers Mike
