Got some surplus books? – sell them on Amazon

AmazonI’ve been having a post-Christmas clear out and having a small pile of text books that were surplus to requirements I put them up for sale on Amazon, something I’ve been meaning to do for quite a while but not got around to it. The immediate results – quite a few sales – have been very gratifying so I thought I’d tell you about it.

First of all this isn’t a get rich scheme – you’ll only make a few quid but if the books are just sitting there and are of no use – why not? I put about 80 books and a few dvds on and within 24 hrs of doing so I’d sold 8 items which come to around a £30 return after postage.

The process is very easy but instead of spending the next 30 minutes describing it just click on this link to be taken through the whole process.

For those of you who might be interested in taking it beyond selling your surplus books Amazon sell a book by Steve Weber called The Home-Based Bookstore: Start Your Own Business Selling Used Books on Amazon, EBay or Your Own Web Site – not sure how realistic it is but looks a good read.

Good luck with your selling – if you have any experiences selling anything online do comment below – would be great to get some top tips.

I wish I had known this a couple of months ago – we live in SW France and I took over 200 books to the local rubbish tip!! Ah well, for future refence – though I mainly use my Kindle now.
    Happy new year to everyone
ps; your ex-mayor lives quite close to us!!
